Towing Battle: 2021 Jeep Compass vs 2021 Nissan Rogue in BC

May 25,2022

If you are searching for a small SUV that offers a higher towing capacity, then you have come to the right place. The new 2021 Jeep Compass excels in this area where other models in the same class fall short. Compared to the 2021 Nissan Rogue, you can easily see which vehicle reigns supreme.   Thanks to the 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir Inline-4 engine, the Compass is capable of pulling up to 907 kg (2,000 lbs). Fitted with your choice of a 6- or 9-speed automatic transmission, it generates 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.   On the other hand, the 2021 Nissan Rogue is powered by a slightly larger 2.5-litre four-cylinder motor. While it does produce 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, it doesn't offer anywhere near the same towing abilities. It can only pull up to 612 kg (1,350 lbs), which is not enough for bringing along a trailer loaded with recreational toys. Using a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and FWD (AWD is optional), the Rogue just can't live up to the expectations.   Are you excited about giving the Jeep Compass a try in person?
