Power Battle: 2021 Jeep Gladiator vs 2021 Toyota Tacoma in Kimberley, BC

May 25,2022

If you are searching for a powerful pickup, then you have come to the right place. The new 2021 Jeep Gladiator boasts quite an impressive performance compared to other models in its class such as the 2021 Toyota Tacoma.   You can choose between two engine options with the Gladiator. The first is a 3.6-litre V6 that pushes out 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Using Variable Valve Timing, it can be mated with either an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. The other option is a turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel V6. Partnered with the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic, it delivers 260 hp and a staggering 442 lb-ft of torque.   Although the Toyota Tacoma has long been a top-ranking truck, the numbers simply don't equate to the sheer force of the Gladiator. The standard motor is a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder that produces only 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the available 3.5-litre V6 generates 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. There is no diesel version for the current production run, and the two transmissions that are offered are automatic and manual 6-speeds.   Want to learn more about how the Jeep Gladiator fares against other vehicles?
