When it comes to power, no other heavy-duty truck can beat the 2022 Ram 3500. Even the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 doesn't stand a chance with its inferior output.
First, the Chevy version uses a bigger 6.6-litre V8. Producing 401 hp, it comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. The maximum weight it can pull while towing is 9,071 kg (20,000 lbs), which may force BC to compromise their cargo needs.
Comparatively, the new Ram 3500 uses a robust 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine that dominates cargo demands. Pumping out 410 hp (Best-In-Class) and 429 lb-ft of torque, it is partnered with an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. Along with a Multi-Displacement System for enhanced fuel efficiency, it can pull up to 16,824 kg (37,090 lbs) when equipped with a Gooseneck/5th-Wheel Prep Package. The standard hitch is a Class V, and it includes a 4- and 7-pin wiring harness to ensure that electricity can travel to the attachments lights and brakes. A trailer brake controller is also available.
