Kimberley, BC: Pick Your Powertrain with the New 2021 Ram 1500 Classic

May 25,2022

Available in five sturdy trim levels, the new 2021 Ram 1500 Classic can be fitted with one of two powertrains. Both are partnered with an 8-speed automatic transmission, an E-shifter, and your choice of RWD or 4WD. The only exception to this is the top-tier Warlock, which is equipped with only a 4x4 drivetrain system.   The standard engine is a 3.6-litre V6 from Pentastar. With the help of Variable Valve Timing (VVT), it delivers 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The maximum towing capacity varies depending on the cab style, but the most it handles is about 2,140 kg (4,720 lbs). The average fuel economy is estimated at around 13.8 L/100 km (17 mpg) in the city and 9.4 L/100 km (25 mpg) on the highway.   Next is the optional 5.7-litre HEMI V8. Also paired with VVT plus the FuelSaver Multi-Displacement System (MDS), it produces 395 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. With the ability to pull up to 3,737 kg (8,240 lbs), it gets approximately 15.6 L/100 km (15 mpg) in the city and 11.2 L/100 km (21 mpg) on the highway.   Would you like to try out both?
