Although the 2021 Jeep Gladiator is a newer vehicle to enter the market for trucks, it has made a substantial impact on the industry. Thanks to its two engine options, it beats other competitors like the 2021 Honda Ridgeline by a long shot.
The standard 3.6-litre V6 is equipped on most Gladiators. Producing 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, you can choose between a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. If you prefer an alternative to gasoline, then you can opt for the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel V6. This motor is mated with the 8-speed automatic from TorqueFlite, and it makes 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The average fuel economy is rated at 10.7 L/100 km (22 mpg) in the city and 8.4 L/100 km (28 mpg) on the highway thanks to Variable Valve Timing (VVT) technology.
Meanwhile, every Honda Ridgeline uses the same 3.5-litre V6 unit. Since it is smaller, it doesn't quite match the Gladiator's strength. Delivering 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, it comes paired with a 9-speed automatic. It also has a lower fuel economy, which is set at 13.1 L/100 km (18 mpg) in the city and 9.8 L/100 km (24 mpg) on the highway.
