DODGE TAKES POLE POSITION IN J.D. POWER STUDIES

Excellence isn't something that's simply innate it is earned. And Dodge has certainly earned its excellence in the eyes of both consumers and critics, with the latter absolutely lavishing the manufacturer with awards in 2020. Chief among those critics and governing bodies is J.D. Power, which honored Dodge with plaudits in their Initial Quality Award, Driver APEAL Study, and Midsize Sports Car categories.
Let's break down each in turn.
Dodge Inspires With Initial Quality
In 1986, J.D. Power launched their breakthrough, consumer-oriented Initial Quality Study. It would go on to measure major automotive brand performance across the first three months of consumer use in order to ascertain which manufacturers were the most consumer-friendly—and which could not pass muster.
Since that time, Dodge has performed admirably in the study, but 2020 marks a high-water point for the brand. J.D. Power has crowned the automaker #1 in the Initial Quality Study in the US—the only domestic brand to be so honored.
To get down into the details, Dodge boasts a manufacturer score in the study of 136 PP100. In this case, smaller numbers are better, and Ford (at 174 PP100), Mazda (at 184 PP100), and Honda (at 177 PP100) all fell well behind.

DODGE HAS SERIOUS 'APEAL' IN CRANBROOK
In 1995, J.D. Power initiated the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL) to gauge public interest and opinion in automotive brands based upon consumer advocacy and sales reports. It quickly became a popular shopping guide for North American consumers—and now, in 2020, Dodge has grabbed its spot as the highest-ranked mass-market brand in the United States in the study.
Dodge's score of 872 in the APEAL catapults it easily past the likes of BMW (869), Ford (853) and GMC (857), and makes it the first U.S. brand to nab the top spot in both the ‘Initial Quality' and ‘APEAL' studies.
