Are you ready to hit the trails of BC in a new compact SUV? Check out the five available trim levels for the 2022 Jeep Compass. Featuring a 2.4-litre Tigershark engine, intelligent 4WD, and selectable driving modes, this model will dominate every terrain with ease.

2022 Jeep Compass Arrives in BC
Equipped with a fuel-efficient 2.4-litre Tigershark four-cylinder engine, the 2022 Jeep Compass gets about 7.6 L/100 km (37 mpg) on the highway. That translates to approximately 640 km (400 miles) of range, which means that you don't have to stop too often at the gas station. It also comes with Engine Start-Stop (ESS) with a brand new starter for reduced noise and vibrations when you pump the accelerator.

Thanks to the MultiAir2 electro-hydraulic variable valve-actuator technology, this motor delivers 177 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. The maximum towing capacity is capped at 907 kg (2,000 lbs). You also have two choices for a transmission. The first is a nine-speed automatic. Offering optimized output, this mechanism provides smooth shifting and is fitted on 4x4 versions such as the Trailhawk. The other option is a Gen III six-speed automatic that is standard on the Sport 4x2. It features a 6.6 ratio spread for a thrilling ride.

2022 Jeep Compass Treks Through BC
Whether you need to navigate the busy city streets or trek through the wild, the 2022 Jeep Compass can handle whatever terrain you throw at it. Thanks to the advanced intelligent 4x4 system, full traction can be sent to a single wheel. Combined with the class-exclusive disconnecting rear axle and power-transfer unit (PTU), the low range gear is engaged instantly.

This mechanism has been installed on the Sport, North, Altitude, and Limited 4x4 models. Known as Jeep Active Drive, it transmits 100 percent of the available torque to the rear wheels while also providing optimized grip in low-traction areas. Combined with a 20:1 crawl ratio and four driving modes - including Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock - you will have access to 4WD performance during various weather conditions and off the beaten path; and this will assure confident handling in BC and beyond.

2022 Jeep Compass Offers Smooth Performance In BC
For even more precision on the off-roads of BC, Selec-Terrain has been added to the Compass' Trailhawk trim level, along with Hill-Descent Control. This allows you to move down a steep incline without slamming on the brakes or activating the throttle.

Meanwhile, this SUV comes with a factory lift of 2.5 cm (1-inch) for a total ground clearance of 21.8 cm (8.6-inches). This permits the vehicle to perform water fording in depths up to 48 cm (19-inches). For protection from rock damage, a slew of skid plates have been installed underneath. Riding on 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires, you can use this model all year long. Finally, the Trailhawk also comes with revised front and back fascias. These give it a 30-degree approach angle, a 34-degree departure angle, and a 24-degree breakover angle.
