As the fastest muscle car on the market, the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is primed for fun - and, to ensure it can maintain its high-output performance, it comes with the Power Chiller and After-Run Chiller.
The SRT Power Chiller transfers the refrigerant from the air conditioning unit inside the cabin to the chiller system. This is mounted next to the low-temperature pump for the circuit coolant. As it passes through the radiator, it is cooled exponentially. By the time it reaches the heat exchangers in the supercharged engine, it is at a low enough temperature to prevent overheating - which is essential to ensure that each near gear setting can be (safely) maintained.
Next, the After-Run Chiller helps keep the motor at an optimized temperature for reaching high speeds. It accomplishes this by minimizing heat soak effects. As the engine shuts down, this element keeps the fan and coolant pump running to maintain the appropriate degrees, affording precise climate control.
